Monica Dimperio is a Chicago-based writer/street style photographer specializing in digital media. As the Midwest’s leading purveyor of “cool”, she has developed a reputation as style expert, trend hunter, and prominent figure in Chicago’s  fashion community.

She is most recognized for founding  The MidWasteland -  a breakthrough website focusing on fashion, lifestyle, and culture in Chicago (and its neighboring metropolis’). The site, a first-of-its-kind, spotlights local street style and gives a Midwestern perspective on topics ranging from style and pop culture to dating and hipsterdom. Since its inception in 2007, the site has been recognized by noteworthy publications like, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and several others.

When Monica is not busy blogging or capturing chic city dwellers, you can find her scouring thrift shops for mid-century barwear and mod mini dresses or hitting the court for a super-competitive badminton sesh.
